Adam Bodnar - Ph.D. (University of Warsaw), LL.M. in Comparative Constitutional Law (CEU in Budapest), professor and Dean of the Law Faculty of the SWPS University in Warsaw (Poland), visiting professor at the University of Cologne (Germany). His habilitation thesis dealt with enforcement of the European Court of Human Rights' judgments. Between September 2015 and July 2021 he served as the Polish Ombudsman, independent top civil servant responsible for safeguarding human rights. For his fight for rule of law and human rights, he received a few international and domestic awards, including Rafto Prize, Rule of Law Award (World Justice Project), Amnesty International Chair (University of Ghent) and Freedom of Speech Award (Press Club Poland). He serves in boards of international and domestic organizations, including International IDEA, Liberties, World Organization Against Torture and Tour de Konstytucja. He has his regular column in a Polish daily „Gazeta Wyborcza” and in polityka.pl. He is also a host of the radio program in Newonce Radio.
